Metal Playground Sets (Classic Series)

The Classic Series keeps the familiar tower–slide–swing arrangement of public playgrounds. It holds 8 models built from recurring components: pitched-roof towers, straight slides, stairs, climbing panels and an attached swing bay. The structure is electrostatically powder-coated steel, with any timber surfaces protected by water-based paint.

The practical advantage of the series is that its components are standard and individually replaceable. The parts that wear fastest — slide bodies, swing seats, chains, handgrips, panels — are supplied separately, so a worn item can be renewed without replacing the whole unit. For a municipality maintaining several hundred play areas a year, what decides the outcome is rarely the moment of purchase; it is whether parts are still obtainable in year five.

Dimensions run as follows: drop heights of 150–200 cm, peak heights of 420–470 cm, and footprints between 450 × 400 cm and 900 × 600 cm. Safety areas range from 850 × 800 cm to 1200 × 900 cm — roughly 68 m² to 114 m². That band fits most mid-sized neighbourhood parks, school grounds and shared residential spaces.

The familiarity of the layout helps in siting too: a child looking at the unit already knows where to climb up and where to slide down, which reduces unexpected directions of travel. On models that include a swing bay, however, the safety area is not symmetrical — it extends forwards and backwards along the swing path. The swing side should therefore not face a pedestrian route or the exit of a slide.

Plan around the safety area, not the ground footprint. KS 03 has a footprint of 900 × 600 cm, about 54 m², against a safety area of 1200 × 900 cm, about 108 m² — twice the space the unit occupies, and all of it must carry impact-absorbing surfacing. The required thickness follows from the drop height. Production falls within the scope of TS EN 1176.

By age, the series speaks mainly to children aged 3–6, and to those over six in the models with a 200 cm drop height. Giving the centre of a play area to this group is usually the right call, since it is the largest user base. For older children, adding a separate climbing-led unit produces a safer result than installing one large mixed-age structure.

The sets are installed on concrete foundations and anchored down. The maintenance schedule is straightforward: a weekly visual check for broken parts, exposed screw ends and chain wear; a monthly check on bolt tightness and anchor connections; a seasonal review of paint integrity and surfacing joints.
