Play Towers

The Tower Series grows play volume vertically across 6 models. Tall platforms, spiral and tube slides, climbing nets and bridges between towers are its recurring components. The structure is electrostatically powder-coated steel profile, with platform and panel surfaces finished for outdoor conditions.

Height is the defining figure: peak heights of 580–620 cm and drop heights of 285–300 cm. These are among the highest fall values in the catalogue, and two things follow directly. First, the target users are children aged six and over; the series is not suitable for younger ones. Second, the impact-absorbing surfacing beneath must be selected for that height — on these models, flooring is not an optional line item.

Height does not imply a small footprint. Footprints run from 950 × 1100 cm to 1875 × 1250 cm and safety areas from 1650 × 950 cm to 2275 × 1650 cm — roughly 157 m² to 375 m² of clear space. What building upwards buys is more play stations over the same base, not a saving in area. For a narrow garden the Eco or Little Dreams series is the better fit.

Two points matter in siting. First, the safety area widens in the exit direction of spiral and tube slides; those exits should not face a pedestrian route, a seating group, or another unit's safety area. Second, sightlines count on tall platforms — for a parent or teacher to see a child on the upper level, the unit needs an open position rather than an enclosed corner.

Surfacing is the decisive budget item in this series. The impact-absorbing layer is more demanding because of the drop height, and the area to be covered is large: the whole safety area, not just the ground beneath the tower. Where equipment is chosen and flooring left until later, the resulting gap is bigger here than in any other series. In specifications this equipment sits under TS EN 1176 and the surfacing beneath it under TS EN 1177.

The series exists to keep older children in the play area rather than losing them. Where a neighbourhood park offers only equipment sized for younger users, older children use that equipment in ways it was not designed for — which is frequently where accidents begin. Tower sets and climbing courses fill that gap.

On capacity, tower units bring several children together on a narrow top platform, which can mean queuing and jostling at the slide entrance. Models offering more than one way down — a spiral slide, a tube slide, a climbing net — therefore work more comfortably in busy areas. A tower with a single exit will not meet demand in a heavily used park.

Installation requires a concrete foundation and anchoring, and given the heights involved, assembly and post-installation inspection are handled with extra care. Maintenance should keep an eye on fibre breakage in climbing ropes, wear at net connection points, the inner surface of enclosed tube slides, and the tightness of platform guardrails.
